Celebration of Wangari Maathai’s Life and Legacy in London, UK

On Wednesday 27th March, just before Easter- a time when Professor Maathai always said “plant a tree”, the GBM Europe office with the  Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is thrilled to announce the launch of the inaugural Wangari Maathai Lecture. It will be given by Mary Robinson, a former President of Ireland and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Mary Robinson is a life-long advocate for Climate Justice and founded the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice.
Her lecture will be titled ’Wangari’s Inspiration on Courageous Leadership and Climate Justice’ and will be the culmination of a day celebrating Wangari Maathai’s life and legacy. More details on the day will follow.
The lecture is at 6pm in the Jodrell Lecture Hall at Kew, London. If you would like to attend please RSVP to:
